OUR VISION

SakhiKamva

OUR MISSION

Sakhikamva will jump the "what is the point of school" gaps that marginalised students always have through motivation and mindset development.

We will ensure that schools that we visit and the students we encounter do not just get applied for and gain access to university but rather change the away they think or their perspective of educational life and offer other alternatives when needs be.

From the
President's Desk

In the words of the late Tata Mdiba, education is not just the key to success but the weapon to lead and conquer with. Others say be the change you want to see and to bring about change we ought to show our selves. It is in the combination of these wise words that SakhiKamva draws from and strives to bring about change and upliftment in the community of Mthatha through education, hence providing tertiary accessibility to to the marginalised and disadvantaged communities.

Scholars form rural areas are faced with a lot of discouragements and challenges that hinder them from continuing with school, deeming it unworthy. Taking  a case of students take care of young one, taking care of everythingat home and still have to juggle school where he receives no encouragement, is rather discouraging. SakhiKamva jumps such gaps to fill through motivation and mindset development. We strive to ensure that the schools we visit and the pupils we encounter do not just gain access to tertiary institutions but we change their perspective on educational life. As our mission states, we aims to change the way marginalsed communities view edcation so as to use it as a tool to change society at large. It is our dream that we give and hope to see those who were assisted coming back and assisting others as well, which is what SakhiKamva is rooted in among many, the value of giving back in the spirit of ubuntu. "To better the lives of those who cannot better themselves is to plant seeds and giving nourishment to the kind of world we will have tomorrow".
